Symantec Endpoint Protection: download security alert

Symantec Endpoint Protection: download security alert

I just tried to download "OpenModelica-BETA-revision-12739.exe" from:

https://build.openmodelica.org/omc/buil … ses/1.9.0/

However, Symantec Endpoint Protection quarantined the file stating: "Symantec has known about this file for more than 30 days. There is a lot of evidence that this file is untrustworthy."

I'm new to modelica and am interested in trying it out with OpenModelica but this type of a warning (albeit possibly a false positive) is a bit concerning. Can the development team give any kind of assurance that this is bogus? Do you all scan the outputs of your builds for viruses/malware?

Thx.

Joe

Re: Symantec Endpoint Protection: download security alert

Hi Joe,

You can safely download and install it.
The Symantec is complaining possibly because the build executables are unauthorized and are not digitally signed via SSL certificates.

Adeel.
