Cam follower animation and simulation with 3D step ap214 files

Cam follower animation and simulation with 3D step ap214 files

Hello,
I have two cam plates with two cam rollers that move up and down in a tandem drive with pistons.
One loading piston and one working piston.
I have generated the CAD data in Freecad version 0.19. Various data exchange formats are available there, e.g. 3D-Step AP214.

In this PDF you can see on page 4 what I need:

And here is an animation that was created with Keyshot:

Who can explain to me how to import AP214 step data into Open Modelica 3D and use constraints to connect the cam plate to the cam rollers to derive a 3D simutation, with motion diagram?
Is there a tutorial or a similar project I can learn from?

Many thanks for your help and best regards

Wilfried

Re: Cam follower animation and simulation with 3D step ap214 files

The Modelica standard library does not do things like collision detection, and will only use a 3D model for visualization. So you would need to manually (or create some software) create all those constraints from the CAD model.
