Hello,

at the search request I met a lot of articles where authors used libraries for modeling chemical processes in the specified programs, unfortunately links to library libraries are either not working, or only the name of the library is given. Maybe someone will tell where this can be looked for, or podedits (interesting libraries for chemical processes in reactors, furnaces, condensers, etc.)?

Please help

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.

Hey,

just recently I bought the RevolutionPi and already have some questions regarding openmodelica. I know that there is a bunch of links avaiable , but none of these worked for me. I always get the error message that the RevPi is 'unable to locate the package openmodelica'. I double checked my library with the sources under '/etc/apt/sources.list' and under '/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' and there I added the openmodelica package: deb I really tried much and spend a couple of hours trying to fix it. Does anyone have an idea how to install openmodelica or at least the complier for the RevPi?

Please help

Hi all,

I'm a simscape user and today I heard about modelica. They look very similar, but modelica should have a much wider library than simscape. So I have in mind to switch to any modelica tool. Does anyone have any experience with any modelica tool? For what is it better than simscape? What would I miss switching to modelica?

Please help

Hello,

I'm in the process of choosing a modeling environment for my research project and would be extremly thankful to hear your experienced opinions on following:
my task is to perform global optimizations (probably based on MINLP) on industrial energy systems including electricity/heat storage options and renewable energy modules.

After some research on the different available tools my thoughts are followings:
- Modelica and Matlab provide really good model librarys: for example Modelica offers the libraries TechThermo for energy storage systems, WindPowerPlants for Wind Turbines, ElectricalEnergyStorage, PhotoVoltaics etc.
- the current most powerful optimization tools are available under GAMS modeling language (solvers CPLEX, Baron for example);

As optimization is going to be a core process in my project (and we already have a license for in my Research Institute), my preference is to use GAMS. However, I found very few models in the GAMS Model Library that could help me for my work and they seem to deal with entire systems (like for example Simultaneous Optimization for Hen Synthesis).
Do you know if there are models available for energy system components like for example a model for CHP, solar collectors or heat/electricity storage technologies? And where I could find such models?

Hello,

Currently I have several projects to build industrial plant systems. You have special software for this. Now I mainly work with Autocad Plant 3d. Which is basically horrible  It is slow, crashes a lot and generally has everything autodesk does to make software "better". I really like open source and cad design and a bit of programming, I would be very nice to have a workbench for industrial plant design similar to arch. Is this a good idea? Are more people interested in this?

Hello!

I am fascinated from the sysdyn tool! Big thanks to it's developers.I am trying to simulate a simple model, spring_mass system, in which cosine function is used, please see attached file. Unfortunately, I got an error message "Simulation failed. No value for xdd". I have a feeling, that the program doesn't understand that the cosine function exist in it's list of functions.

Please help

Hello,

I've installed FreeCAD and been looking at tutorials for hours (so many of which, bizarrely, have no audio") and I did not find my answer.
I believe there is a long learning curve for FreeCAD and I don't want to climb the ladder to find it was the wrong ladder.I want a program in which I can lash together linkages and other mechanical components, see how they work, change them and iterate design in that way. I imagine I'd specify link arms, pivot points, connect things up and then "make it move" to see if it does what I want and what the issues are.I have previously done this with cardboard and thumb tacs to gt an idea of how things might work, but it's far from ideal and I don't end up with drawings at the end of it.Can anyone tell me if FreeCAD is that program?

Hello,

I was trying to install openmodelica-git to my x86_64 Arch machine and the build fails. I have the completely updated my system with pacman and yaourt.Initially, I faced a problem without knowing that it required gcc-multilib. Then, the old posts in the forum helped me to resolve my problem. But, I couldnt find anything in the older posts which can help in in this regard, further. The error log which I got when I ran the #makepkg -sri# command is given in the link below. Pls guide me if I am doing wrong.
