I can't for the life of me figure out ow to change my compiler from mingw to msvc in a way to get it running. I am using OMEdit 1.17.0 and my visual studio version is 2017 professional. I am able to compile models in dymola, it's just not working with OM. I tried changing the simulation flags and the tick box in the options window but neither work.

It seems like its not able to find my msvc installation. Is there a way to pass this into OMedit?
Is there a step by step guide to changing compilers in OMEdit, because I haven't been able to find it? If not, I could write this if someone helps me with this issue.
