output directory selection

The output directories in the linux installation are /tmp/OpenModelica and /tmp/OpenModelica/OMEdit

¿Can I change the output directories to some user directory like /home/user/mydir?

Or set environment variable TMPDIR=/home/user/tmp/. Many Unix applications look for this, and on OSX you get odd tmp-dirs like /var/folders/9m/y0z96n9j22dg43hldg3v19y0000102/T/.
