How to use ssh clients with prebuilt VM

unable to connect ssh clients like putty and winscp to transfer files to and from windows host and VM
Don't the have root or su access to "modelica" user account.
Can we have the password for root or su user so that we can make some custom installations/changes required on pre built VM?
