OPENMODELICA and OPC integration

OPENMODELICA and OPC integration

Hi Guys

I have been struggling trying to use OPC as an integration tool in windows.  using [-rt-1.0 -embbedServer=opc-da or  opc-ua] Some time the (-rt=1.0) not recognized  [@  stable ver  1.9.7]  , --embeddedServer=opc-ua   simulation completes without recognizing the -rt=1.0  [  @ nightly built 1.12 32 and 64 bits)...

An Open Modelica apprentice, like me, needs clear and strait forward  information in the documentation.

So I am gently suggesting to more proficient OpenModelica  users to share their experience with OPC-DA or OPC-UA usage in windows and linux platforms.

And Apprendices post their questions in this thread

Thanks

Marco

Re: OPENMODELICA and OPC integration

Hi Marco,

I have used OpenModelica 1.10 thru 1.12 on linux and windows (32 and 64 bit) and have faced no such problems with OPC-UA server. Though, I have never been able to setup an OPC-DA server.

Steps followed:

  • Select Clock = RT in Simulation Setup

  • Additional Simulation Flag : -rt 1.0 -embeddedServer opc-ua

  • This has always worked.
What exactly do you mean by not recognising "-rt=1.0" ? Could you please elaborate?

    Cheers.
