How to compile and simulate in a linux terminal...

I am totally new to Modelica/Openmodelica. I would appreciate if someone can answer my following questions:

1.  How do I compile and simulate a .mo in a linux terminal instead of in OMEdit? Is there a minimal example?

2. What is a .mos file and why we need it? I read through the official tutorial and has a impression that everything can be a class so why not put everything in .mo files? Is .mos file compiler/simulator dependent?

3. How to include files? For example, if in a simulation I have multiple instances each has its own .mo model file, where and how should I include these files?

I have been searching the official documents for answers to these questions but still have no clue...
